An author with six years of writing experience which includes creative writing, song lyrics, poetry, short essays and stories, spiritual fiction, and children’s books.
She currently writes facilitation guides for literacy workshops at three Chicago Public Schools, provides website copy edits, and writes monthly blogs and newsletters about schools and families, community events and programs.
Jasmine Jones studied Clinical Psychology and minored in Sociology at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. Her passion for family health and community organizing led her to various opportunities with Chicago Public Schools (CPS) and education non-profits like Youth Guidance and Turning the Page.
Her work experience includes educational and creative writing, partnership management, copy editing, community building, and program development. Each experience has given her insight into the hardships of under-served communities while also providing solution-based opportunities that support their success and well being.
Her goal in life is to use her writing and experience to support education initiatives, develop the creativity of young writers through writing workshops, and create a publishing company for black authors and creatives.
